Did You Find a German Pinscher?

If you think you have found a German Pinscher, please view this brochure to help verify your suspicions.

One of the first things you should do if you find stray dog is contact local shelters to find out if the dog has been reported missing.  If the shelter has a match, they will help facilitate getting in touch with the possible owner.

If you are willing to retain the dog while waiting for the owner, you can leave information about the dog your found with local shelters and police departments.

If the dog is wearing a license, contact the County with which the dog has been licensed.  They will be able to provide contact information for the owner.

If the dog is not wearing a collar and no missing dog reports have been filed, take the dog to the closest veterinarian or shelter to have it scanned for a microchip.  Responsible breeders microchip their puppies to assure their safe return home in the event they are separated from their owner.  If the dog is microchipped, the manufacturer of the chip will be able to provide contact information for the owner.

If the dog remains unclaimed and no contact information for the owner can be ascertained, contact German Pinscher Rescue for how to proceed.
